Miss Himalaya Crown Continues with Chinmoyee Das for 2024–25
The Miss Himalaya 2025 was not held this year. As a result, the reigning titleholder, Chinmoyee Das, will continue her tenure and has been formally conferred the title of Miss Himalaya 2024–25.
Chinmoyee Das, widely admired for her elegant personality, strong academic background and commitment to promoting Himalayan culture, has made a meaningful impact during her reign as Miss Himalaya 2025. She has actively worked towards preserving ethnic culture and promoting environmental awareness. Her leadership qualities, effective public speaking skills and dedication as a cultural ambassador of Himalayan identity.
Coming from a family deeply connected to nature and environmental service, Chinmoyee Das’s values were shaped early in life. Both her grandfather and father served in the Forest Department, which had a profound influence on her upbringing. Born and raised in the rural countryside of Kamrup, Northeast India, surrounded by forests and hills, she developed a deep respect and emotional connection with nature. This background has inspired her ongoing involvement in environmental conservation, sustainability and ecological protection. She has been associated with the National Service Scheme (NSS) as a volunteer for many years, participating in various regional and national camps focused on awareness and wildlife conservation.
In her personal life, Chinmoyee Das comes from a supportive, values-oriented family that has consistently encouraged her aspirations. From a young age, she showed a keen interest in creative writing, including stories and poems. Her literary talent gained recognition during her college years when she received the Best Writer Award for five consecutive years. Her writings—short stories, poems, and articles—have been regularly broadcast on the “Yuvavani” programme of Akashvani (All India Radio), Guwahati. She has also actively participated in recitation, storytelling, narration and group discussions, with several of her dramas staged across Assam. One of her stories, “Osol Toka,” was selected for the Assamese mega-serial “Pita-Putra” broadcast on Rang TV. Professionally, she worked as a content writer for the Guwahati-based clothing brand Lotighoti from 2016 to 2017 and has been freelancing with various organisations since 2016. She has also participated in major fashion and cultural platforms, including Heritage Assam Fashion Week 2020 and Traditional Fashion Week 2021 by Byatikram Group, as well as multiple advertising campaigns.
Her literary achievements include the Assamese poetry collection “Dunai Mur Premot Noporiba” (2016), published by Rekha Prakashan, Guwahati, for which she received the ‘Sahitya Sanman’ as Best Poet (Youth Category) – 2016 by Bindu Monthly Magazine. Her collection of Assamese articles, “Asomiya Barnil Kristir Ruprekha,” was published in 2021 by Ankuran Publication, Jorhat. She is currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Film Studies, with a focus on culture and visual storytelling. She has recently developed a strong interest in shayari as a medium of poetic and social expression.
. It was a sudden turn of events when she encountered the “Miss Calendar Girl” opportunity during a literature group meeting. She received an offer from one of her literature friends to join as an Axomia calendar girl, and she accepted it calmly, without much excitement. From there, she walked in as one of the top five finalists at Miss Assam, and later at Brahmaputra Miss North-East. Winning Best Personality titles at both platforms in 2020. She later won the title of Miss Bharat Assam 2023 and, in 2024, she was crowned Miss Himalaya at a contest held in New Delhi.
With the extension of her title, Chinmoyee Das becomes one of the few titleholders to continue her reign for a consecutive year. The Miss Himalaya 2026 pageant is scheduled to be held in 2026, with further details to be announced in due course.
