The killing of two suspected shooters in a police encounter has given investigators a major breakthrough in the Ankit Balyan murder case, but the Uttar Pradesh Police investigation is continuing as other suspects allegedly connected to the crime remain at large.
Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Balyan was shot dead in Shamli on August 26. According to reports, he was leaving a gym when four assailants travelling on two motorcycles allegedly opened fire.
The attack resulted in critical injuries to the singer. He was rushed for treatment, but doctors later declared him dead.
The shocking murder triggered a major police investigation. Officers began examining CCTV footage, collecting evidence and trying to establish the identity of the attackers.
The investigation eventually focused on several suspects, including Mohit and Sumit from Sonipat in Haryana. Both were reportedly wanted in connection with the murder and carried rewards of ₹50,000 each.
Police later encountered the two suspects in Shamli. According to reports, an exchange of fire took place, and the two men were injured in retaliatory police firing. They were taken to hospital but were declared dead.
The encounter was seen as a major development because it removed two of the suspected shooters from the police manhunt. However, the investigation immediately shifted toward the remaining accused.
Reports indicate that at least two other suspects allegedly connected to the attack have not yet been apprehended. Their identities, movements and possible role in the crime remain important parts of the continuing investigation.
Police are expected to use information collected during the initial investigation to trace the remaining suspects. This could involve analysing mobile-phone records, examining travel routes, studying CCTV footage and coordinating with police agencies in neighbouring states.
Because some suspects reportedly have connections outside Uttar Pradesh, interstate coordination could be particularly important. Criminal investigations involving suspects who move across state borders often require the sharing of intelligence and joint police operations.
The central challenge for investigators now is to reconstruct the entire alleged conspiracy. Authorities need to establish who carried out the shooting, who allegedly planned it and whether anyone provided logistical or financial support.
The murder of Ankit Balyan has become particularly significant because of his popularity as a singer and social-media personality. The public nature of the crime created enormous attention and increased pressure for quick results.
However, investigators must also ensure that the remaining stages of the case are based on evidence. The arrest and questioning of additional suspects could provide important information about the events leading up to the murder.
For Balyan’s family, the search for the remaining accused is now the most important issue. They have made it clear that they want action against everyone allegedly involved.
The Shamli encounter may have changed the immediate course of the investigation, but police still face the difficult task of completing the case. Until the remaining suspects are traced and the alleged motive is established, the mystery surrounding the murder will continue.
The coming days are expected to be crucial as investigators expand their search and attempt to bring the entire network allegedly connected with the killing before the justice system.
