Dubai; News Agency: Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming ICC One Day World Cup is still uncertain and in this background ICC has prepared its ‘Plan B’. The ICC’s strategy is that if Pakistan pulls out at a strategic moment, the third team in the qualifiers will be given a chance. (ICC ODI WC 2023)

India is the host of the 2023 ICC World Cup. A total of 48 matches will be played in this tournament which will be held from October 5 to November 19. The opening and final matches of the tournament will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. If Pakistan does not participate, the third-ranked team in the qualifiers in Zimbabwe could get a chance in the upcoming World Cup. (ICC ODI WC 2023)

India has consistently avoided going to Pakistan in the past, hence the concept of hosting Asia Cup matches in Pakistan and Sri Lanka by introducing a hybrid model has been proposed and sealed. India last toured Pakistan in 2008, while Pakistan has toured India on the occasion of the ICC T20 World Cup. As per the pre-planned schedule, the Pakistan team will play their World Cup matches at five locations namely Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
