In the state 59 thousand 546 people have died in 55 thousand 59 accidents during the period from January 1, 2019 to May 31, 2023. Therefore, the reality has come to light that an average of 35 people lost their lives in accidents every day during this period.

One lakh 35 thousand 103 accidents have been recorded in the state in the last 53 months. It includes 55 thousand 59 fatal accidents. 77 thousand 393 people have been seriously injured in 49 thousand 731 accidents. Similarly, in 19 thousand 348 accidents, 33 thousand 531 people have been injured in minor form. The highest number of accidental deaths occurred in 2022, after which the system is trying to reduce the number of accidents and accidental deaths. It has been observed that accidents are being invited because vehicles are running smoothly on wide roads and traffic rules are being ignored. Statistics have revealed that there has been a seven percent decrease in the number of accidents and accidental deaths during the period from January to the end of May in the current year.

Nashik rural has the highest number of deaths

During the period January 2021 to December 2022, Pune and Nashik rural/urban areas have the highest number of accidental deaths in the state. Among them, 1 thousand 774 people have died in accidents in Nashik rural, while 1 thousand 721 people have died in Pune rural. 392 in Nashik city and 580 in Pune city have lost their lives in accidents.
