Bullock cart race mishap in Pune; Stage collapse kills one; Three seriously injured leader

Pune/Fursungi; Leading News Service: One person was killed on the spot while three others were injured when the stage which was arranged for the people to sit in the bullock cart race collapsed on Sunday afternoon near Ramdarya in Vadki.
The deceased have been identified as Balasaheb Kashinath Koli (age 46, Nimam Padli, District Satara), while Shubham Vijay Lokhande (age 24, Bhor, Pune), Mayur Pramod Lokhande (age 25) and Vikas Valmik Dhamale (age 24, Res. Res. Pimpri Whan, Dist. Rahuri, Dist. Ahmednagar) are seriously injured. Senior Police Inspector Dattatray Chavan said that a bullock cart race was organized on Sunday afternoon at Vadki village under the limits of Loni Kalbhor police station. In large measure for this

Citizens had crowded. An iron stage was prepared for the citizens to sit. As there was a sudden rain in the afternoon, the citizens took shelter of the bullock cart to escape the rain, while some people sat on the back of the truck. The four sat under the iron stage to protect themselves from the rain. Due to heavy rain, this iron stage fell down on the foursome in the mud. All four were crushed under the stage and injured. Balasaheb Kashinath Koli died while all four were admitted to the hospital for treatment, while three others were injured. They are undergoing treatment. Sudden death has been reported in this case.

President of NCP attended this program at Vadki. Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule were going to come. A lot of preparations were made for the race with all the necessary permissions. However, the sudden downpour and subsequent accident marred the race.
