Sriharikota; News Agency: The countdown of ‘Chandrayaan-3’ mission has started and most of the preparations have been made. India is all set to write a new chapter on the page of history. ‘Chandrayaan-3’ will be launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center here on Friday at 2.35 pm.

Four years ago, Indians were disappointed by the limited success of the ‘Chandrayaan-2’ mission. The lander crashed while landing on the lunar surface. The ‘Chandrayaan-3’ mission has been planned with all the necessary improvements keeping in mind all the reasons that led to the accident in ‘Chandrayaan-2’. The hope of success is as high as the sky at this time, said S. Somnath said.

As soon as Vikram Lander lands on the moon, India will join the list of superpowers like America, Russia and China who have achieved such success. Since India’s mission is for research on the South Pole of the Moon, it has become a subject of curiosity for the entire world, including the three superpowers. Till date no spacecraft of any country has landed on the South Pole of the Moon. So just as Indians are focused on the launch of Chandrayaan-3, so is the world’s focus on India!

Vikram lander is scheduled to land on the moon on August 23 or 24 after the launch of the spacecraft. The entire country is now keen to see ISRO’s choice of failure-based approach for Chandrayaan-3 pay off.
