Pune; Leading News Service: 200 crores will be received from the state government for the land acquisition of the popular Katraj-Kondhwa road. In line with this, the municipal officials recently inspected the Katraj-Kondhwa road. The heavy vehicles coming from Nagar Road, Solapur Road, Saswad Road go towards Mumbai via Katraj – Kondhwa Road. In addition, the number of vehicles on the road has increased due to the large number of urban settlements on both sides of the road. As a result, there is a traffic jam on this road. To solve the problem of traffic congestion, the Municipal Corporation has undertaken the work of widening the road between Khadi Machine Chowk from Katraj to Kondhwa.
This road of about 3 kilometers was to be widened to 84 meters. Four years ago, his Bhoomi Pujan was also performed. But this project has remained incomplete as the land is not occupied. The cost of land acquisition for making the 84 meter road would be around Rs 700 crore. The municipal corporation does not have that much money, so it was decided to make a 50 meter road.
For this, the land owners will get Rs 200 crore as compensation. This process will take a few months. For this, Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakne inspected the Katraj-Kondhwa road. The electric cable in Shatrughan Chowk will be removed. Trees will be removed from many places. A divider will be placed on this road to avoid traffic congestion.
There are many dividers on the Katraj-Kondhwa road. However, in some places, heavy vehicles are being obstructed due to lack of dividers as any vehicle is turning from anywhere. It increases traffic congestion. To avoid this, dividers will be put in the road.
