The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has submitted a formal request to the President of India seeking approval to prosecute Satyendar Jain, the former Delhi Minister and senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). This request follows an investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which has presented evidence implicating Jain in money laundering and corruption.

Jain has been under investigation for several months, and the ED has reportedly uncovered significant evidence linking him to financial irregularities. The request for Presidential sanction is an essential procedural step before legal proceedings can begin.

Jain and his supporters have denied the charges, claiming that they are politically motivated and aimed at damaging AAP’s credibility. The legal battle ahead will likely involve a fierce defense by Jain’s legal team, who argue that the case is part of an orchestrated attempt to weaken AAP.

Once the President grants approval, the case will proceed to court, where the allegations will be formally heard.
