Narvair Sohal, a spirited and determined woman, was born and brought up in the bustling city of Kolkata. Her life has been a roller-coaster ride of hardships, emotional struggles, and unwavering resilience. Despite facing countless challenges, Narvair has emerged stronger, always holding onto the belief that better days lie ahead.
Narvair lived with her mother, brother, and young son, forming a close-knit family that stood together through thick and thin. Her educational journey began at Calcutta Girls High School where she studied till class 6, then moved to Union Chapel for classes 7 to 10, and later completed her 11th and 12th from Rajasthan Vidya Mandir. Driven by a love for literature and learning, she pursued her BA in English from Acharya Jagdish Bose College. Throughout her academic years, Narvair remained diligent, ambitious, and outgoing—a true extrovert who always made her presence felt.
However, life was never easy for Narvair. Born into a family where her father was a businessman, she experienced firsthand the unpredictable nature of business. Financial instability became a recurring issue. There were times when the family couldn’t afford basic celebrations, and even something as simple as a pair of new socks was a luxury. She recalls wearing the same socks tied with rubber bands to keep them from slipping—a symbol of the harsh yet humble realities they faced. Yet, despite such circumstances, giving up was never an option.
A major turning point came when her elder brother tragically took his own life. The family never discovered the reason behind his suicide, leaving them in a state of deep emotional turmoil. This tragic loss deeply impacted her father, who soon spiraled into alcoholism. The addiction consumed him, ruining their family’s remaining peace and eventually leading to his death. Her mother, a pillar of strength, had to bear the brunt of these misfortunes while trying to keep the family together.
Amidst this chaos, one of Narvair’s elder sisters stood by her like a rock. Her support became a guiding light during some of the darkest moments in Narvair’s life. With her help, and with immense inner strength, Narvair began to rebuild herself. She took up various jobs, working tirelessly to fullfill her expanses and carve a future for her son.
Today, Narvair continues to search for new opportunities, fueled by her hope and belief in herself. She refuses to let her past define her. Her dreams are alive and thriving, and she’s determined to achieve success not just for herself, but to honor the struggle of her mother and the memory of her lost loved ones.
