150 people of Pardhi community in Alandi detained on suspicion of theft leader

Alandi (Pune); Leading News Service: On Saturday (11th) evening around the evening of Saint Shrestha Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Pai Wari Palkhi, the police detained four to five people in the temple area on suspicion of theft. After that, around 150 people of Pardhi community from different parts of the city were detained by the police and kept at the police station overnight.

As soon as Digambar Kale of the Pardhi community came to know that the Pardhi people had started their hunger strike there, he informed Sunita Bhosale, an activist of the community. He said that the people of Pardhi have been kept in custody by the police since night. It includes women, children and men. Many of them are beggars and some earn their living by selling balloons. We will demand their immediate release. We will go to the police station by noon. Meanwhile, the Alandi police could not be contacted.
