ASIA CUP 2023 : First opposition.., then approval | leader

Karachi; News Agency: Pakistan Cricket Board-designate Zaka Ashraf has expressed his opposition to the hybrid model of Asia Cup 2023. Therefore, the fate of the Asia Cup tournament was once again hanging in the balance, but now Xhaka has taken a U-turn on his statement and said that he will implement the decision taken by the previous president, even if he does not agree with it. Zaka Ashraf held a press conference on Wednesday and said that the Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan. So again, the Asia Cup was facing a crisis. But, Pakistan, the master of flipping, has once again taken a U-turn. Ashraf has given an explanation on his own statement. We will not create any obstacle in the decision taken earlier by the PCB, he concluded. (ASIA CUP 2023)

This whole hybrid model is not beneficial for Pakistan and I personally don’t like it, Ashraf said. Pakistan should have negotiated better as the host should have played the entire tournament in Pakistan. Pakistan got only four matches and it is not in the interest of our country to have 9 matches in Sri Lanka, he added.

He further concluded that, “But as I see it, the decision has already been made, so we have to go with it.” I will not oppose or have any intention of disobeying the decision. There’s not much I can do about it; But it is important to respect PCB’s commitment, but every decision we take going forward will be taken in the best interest and interest of the country.
