The accused arrested by the CBI include Senior Section Engineer Arun Kumar Mahanto, Senior Section Engineer Mohammad Amir Khan and Technician Pappu Kumar. A case under Section 304 and Section 201 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against the suspected accused.
Last month on June 2, around 7 pm, the Coromandel Express hit a freight train. Then some coaches of the Coromandel Express collided with the Bangalore-Howrah Superfast Express. 292 passengers died in this terrible accident. So, more than one thousand passengers were injured. Due to this terrible train accident, the entire country was shocked. The investigation of this accident was handed over to the CBI. After a case was registered in this case, the CBI took up the investigation. A CBI investigation team inspected the spot.
