New Delhi; Leading News Service: Names recommended for the post of Chief Justice of seven High Courts including Bombay High Court Chief Justice D. Y. Collegium headed by Chandrachud has done to the Central Govt. The seven High Courts include Bombay, Kerala, Odisha, Manipur, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Gujarat High Courts. These recommendations have been made keeping seniority, regional and women’s representation in mind. Gujarat High Court Justice Ashish Desai has been named as Chief Justice of Kerala High Court. While Chief Justice of Kerala High Court S. V. Bhatti will be promoted as a judge in the Supreme Court. From the post of Chief Justice of Odisha High Court S. Muralidhar, who is set to retire in August, has been recommended for his seat by Subhasish Talapatra, currently serving as a judge in the Tripura High Court.

The collegium has recommended that Siddharth Mridul, a judge of the Delhi High Court, should be made the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court. Justice Dheeraj Singh Thakur has been named to the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Devendra Upadhyay, a senior judge of the Allahabad High Court, has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. On the other hand, Justice Sunita Aggarwal of the same court has been recommended for the post of Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court. Alok Aradhye of Madhya Pradesh High Court has been recommended for the post of Chief Justice of Telangana High Court.
