Hingoli, Leading News Service: A thief with more than 20 cases registered in Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra and wanted by the police in five districts was caught in the net of the Hingoli local crime branch. 4 persons were arrested exposing the interstate vehicle gang. Two vehicles worth 10 lakhs were seized from them.
The truck was stolen from Limbala Makta area of the taluka on June 3. Superintendent of Police G. Sridhar had given instructions to the local crime branch team to track down the truck thief. Accordingly, the team started the investigation. The team got information that the truck was in Chorta Sillod area (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district). The team arrested Khurshid Ahmed Basheer Ahmed (age 50 years, Res. Chandrangutta, Palaknuma Palace Hyderabad).
When he was interrogated, he confessed to stealing the truck. He also said that he sold this truck to his friend Aref Ahmed Shaikh (Rest. Aland, Phulumbri). When the police detained Aref Sheikh, he sold this truck through his friend Roman alias Sheikh Shahed Akhtar Sheikh Rafiq (Rangtipura Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Azar Akbar Sheikh (Garkhed area Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) to Sh. Said to have sold it to Shahed Sh.Wahed (Rest. Dharashiv). The police seized the truck.
The three accused confessed to stealing 1 car from Gunj in Mahagaon (District Yavatmal) police station limits. The police detained four of them. The police have predicted the possibility that some more crimes will be revealed by the accused. Among them, Khurshid Ahmed Basheer Ahmed is an interstate criminal of vehicle theft. It is reported that he was released from Jalgaon Jail a few days ago. Also, a total of more than 20 cases have been registered against him in the three states of Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra. Police in five districts of Maharashtra were searching for him. The gang was busted by the Hingoli Local Crime Branch team.
