Paris; News Agency: World number one Iga Svyatek booked her place in the women’s singles semi-finals at the French tennis Grand Slam by defeating American Coco Gough in straight sets. Switek defeated sixth seed Goff in the quarterfinals 6-4, 6-2. Coco Goff was the last runner-up in this competition, but this year, she has to wrap up soon. Now, Brazil’s Betriz will face Switech in the semi-finals. (Iga Swiatek)

Switek, who won the French Grand Slam in 2020 and 2022, has now extended his record against Goff to 7-0. The semi-final between Switek and Goff was decided in just 1 hour and 28 minutes. Although American teenager Goff tried her best, she was not successful at all. This is Switech’s 12th consecutive win at Roland Garros and her record in the tournament is 26-2. The 22-year-old Swytek became the fourth youngest player to win 12 consecutive matches at the tournament. Previously, only Monica Seles, Steffi Graf and Chris Evert could achieve a better performance than this. (Iga Swiatek)

Speaking about the fight, Switek said, Goff did his best to take advantage of the atmosphere here. So winning here was not easy at all. Especially the first set was more challenging. The quarter-final matches are of course tough. I am happy to win today. I will be more prepared in the next fight.
