Nagpur; Leading News Service: The city police today burnt and destroyed around 1200 kg of ganja. Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar informed that the 2700 kg ganja seized in the last five and a half months will be destroyed in the next 15 days after completing all the procedures.
The initiative was implemented today (26th) on the occasion of International Anti-Drug Day. Amitesh Kumar also explained on this occasion that twelve hundred kilos of ganja were destroyed as part of the campaign to make Nagpur drug free. ND PS had taken action to confiscate twelve hundred kilos of ganja a few days ago in Pardi area. On this occasion, he appealed to the citizens to participate in the anti-narcotics campaign and provide information to make Nagpur ‘drugs free’. Action has been taken against 1700 criminals under NDPS in last few months. Narcotics worth Rs.53 crore have been seized by Nagpur police and 253 accused have been arrested.
