Nanded; Leading News Service: The police have arrested three accused on the charge of demanding an extortion of 50 lakh rupees. This incident took place at Dhakni in Sonkhed police station area on Thursday (29th) between 4 pm.

The three accused had demanded an extortion of Rs 50 lakh from the owner of a ballast crusher located in Dhakni. If the ransom was not paid, they were threatened to be shot. The pursuit of the accused for extortion was going on since last one month. The three accused had come to Dhakni on a two-wheeler after the crusher owner agreed to pay the money on Thursday. However, the team of Superintendent of Police Srikrishna Kokate laid a trap and arrested the three.

In the meantime, it is reported that the police opened fire when some accused were trying to escape. Superintendent of Police Srikrishna Kokate, Additional Superintendent of Police Abinash Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police Suraj Gurav, Local Crime Branch PO Dwarkadas Chikhlikar, Sonkhed SP No. Vishal Bhosle inspected the incident site.

Although no official information is given by the police in this regard, the information will be given after the complete investigation. This was said by Superintendent of Police Srikrishna Kokate. It is understood that the accused took the name of notorious terrorist ‘Harwindersingh Rinda’ while demanding ransom.
