At this time, he expressed the opinion that Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals are the best way for the world to fight the crisis of climate change. He also thanked the Japanese government for giving the opportunity to unveil the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Japan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Japanese Chancellor Olaf Scholz, Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh before the start of the G7 summit. Apart from this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Korean President Eun Suk Yeol in Hiroshima, Japan. On this occasion he reaffirmed the commitment of the leaders to further strengthen bilateral ties as India-Republic of Korea celebrates 50 years of diplomatic relations this year. The leaders agreed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of trade and investment, high technology, IT hardware production, defense, semiconductors and culture.
