Pune; Leading News Service: In the first match of the Maharashtra Premier League (MPL), Rituraj Gaikwad’s Puneri Bappa team defeated Kedar Jadhav’s Kolhapur Tuskers by 8 wickets to register their first win. (MPL 2023)
The match was played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Gahunje. In this match, the Puneri Bappa team easily passed the challenge of 145 runs with the powerful batting of Rituraj Gaikwad. Rituraj Gaikwad’s knock of 64 runs off 27 balls with 5 fours and 5 sixes while Pawan Shah’s knock of 43 runs off 37 balls with 5 fours gave victory. In bowling, Sachin Bhosle took 3 wickets for 40 runs, Piyush Chawla took 3 wickets for 18 runs and Rohan Damle took 1 wicket for Puneri Bappa team.
Batting first, Maharashtra Ranji player Ankit Bavane scored 72 runs off 57 balls with 5 fours and 3 sixes as Kolhapur Tuskers set a challenge of 145 runs for victory against Puneri Bappa team in the opening match. (MPL 2023)
Kolhapur scored 144 for 7 in 20 overs in the first match of the tournament held today at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Gahunje.
