Jejuri (Pune); Leading News Service: Khomene Pratishthan and villagers participated in the dharna movement on the fourth day on behalf of the villagers of Jejuri due to the appointment of an external trustee for the Shree Martand Devsansthan Trust, which looks after the management of Shree Khandoba Deva of Jejuri, the deity of Maharashtra. In this movement, sheep were brought and the deity was worshiped wearing the traditional Sumbaran. Former state minister Vijay Shivtare visited this protest movement. Shivtare said that it was necessary to appoint a local board of trustees to serve the devotees.

There is an atmosphere of anger among the villagers to appoint 6 out of 7 trustees in the board of trustees of Jejuri Devasthanam and against this decision the villagers are protesting in front of the devotees of Jejuri Devasthanam for the fourth consecutive day. On 29th, on behalf of Khomene Foundation in Jejuri, this movement was participated. In this movement, sheep were brought and the traditional Sumbaran was offered and the outside board of trustees was abolished.

Former state minister Vijay Shivtare expressed his support to the protest movement by visiting it. Speaking on this occasion, he said, for many centuries the service of Sri Khandoba God of Jejuri, as well as the importance of God, traditional traditions, pilgrimage fairs and festivals have been preserved in Jejuri. But due to the decision taken by the Pune Deputy Charity Commissioner regarding the selection of trustees, there is a lot of anger among Jejuri Taxes including me. And this rage is being expressed through civil satyagraha. He said that he will soon hold a meeting with the state chief minister along with the non-party workers to discuss the matter with the local protestors.

We insist that the Jejuri Development Plan is being implemented almost 300 years after Punyashlok Ahilya Devi. While implementing the development plan of around Rs 359 crore, people with local knowledge here will be important. Vijay Shivatare said that local trustees are needed to successfully implement this scheme.

On this occasion, former members of Zilla Parishad Dilip Yadav, Sena’s Avinash Badde, Dada Thopte, Dheeraj Jagtap, Haribhau Lole, as well as Shiv Sena Jejuri City President Vitthal Sonawane, protestors Sudhir Godse, Jalandar Khomane, Sachin Peshwa, Ajinkya Deshmukh were present in a large number of villagers.
