Pune : Leader News Service : The police have seized the cutter used by Rahul to stab Darshan for refusing to marry him. Apart from this, the police informed the court that the bike used by Rahul and Darshana to go to Rajgad and the clothes worn by the accused during the murder were seized. Handore’s police custody has been extended till Monday (Dec 3) for further investigation into the crime. Rahul stabbed Darshan three to four times with a cutter blade from a compass after he had passed the MPSC exam due to an argument over marriage.
Rahul had recently confessed to the police that he killed her by beating her with a stone. Accordingly, the items used in the crime are being seized from him. Meanwhile, Handore was produced in the court on Thursday (29th) as his police custody was about to expire. Handore used two other shirts for the crime. They have not been seized yet. He also absconded for a few days after killing.
Has anyone helped him while on the run? The exact place where he stayed is not yet known. Therefore, the government prosecutors demanded an extension of four days in his police custody. On behalf of the accused, Adv. Ganesh Mane argued. The preliminary investigation of the crime has been completed. Therefore, there is no need for police custody and the court should give judicial custody to the accused, argued Adv. Mane did. Stating that the scope of the crime is large, the court has extended Handore’s police custody till Monday.
On June 18, Darshana Pawar’s dead body was found at the foot of Rajgad. It was revealed that she had gone trekking to Rajgad with her friend Handore. He was then arrested on June 21 in Mumbai late at night.
