Amravati: Two from Rocky gang arrested in two-wheeler theft case; Action by Unit 2 of Crime Branch | leader

Amravati; Leading News Service: A team of Unit No. 2 of the Crime Branch of the City Police Commissionerate arrested two men along with the leader of the Rocky gang on Monday (24th) in connection with the two-wheeler theft case. The names of the accused are Ajay alias Rocky Bharat Wadekar (age 16) and Manoj Purushottam Mangulkar (29, both of Kavtha Bahale, Bhatkuli). Police have seized 9 bikes from their possession.

A two-wheeler (No. MP 48 NA 1677) belonging to Ashish Sumat Evene (aged 22), a resident of a brick kiln in Kondeshwar area, was stolen on February 9 from a bridge near Tapovan Gate. On the complaint of this incident, a case was registered in Gadgenagar police station. In this crime, the team of Unit No. 2 of the Crime Branch was also investigating the crime in parallel.

Meanwhile, during the police investigation, the police got the information that the Rocky gang is involved in two-wheeler theft cases in the city. Based on this information, the team of Unit 2 of the Crime Branch arrested the head of the Rocky gang, Ajay alias Rocky and Manoj from Warood. During interrogation, he confessed to stealing a bike from Amravati City, Amravati Rural, Yavatmal, Madhya Pradesh. Accordingly, 9 bikes were seized from them. There is a possibility that some more crimes will be revealed by the thieves.
