Amravati; Leading News Service: A special team of the Commissioner of Police arrested an interstate chain snatcher on Sunday, July 23 in the evening. The name of the accused is Sanjay Brajmohan Chowkse (47, Res. Tillore Khurd, Indore, Madhya Pradesh). Five cases of gold chain theft have been revealed from him. A total of 2 lakh 46 thousand valuables like gold and two-wheeler have been seized from him.

A resident of Sainagar in the city, Dr. Shailesh Bansilal Jaiswal (41) was riding his two-wheeler to drop his daughter off at school on the morning of July 19 when two bike-borne robbers, who came from behind near Samarth School, stole the gold chain from his neck. In this case, on the complaint of Shailesh Jaiswal, the Rajapeth police registered a case and started the investigation. A special team was also conducting a parallel investigation into this crime. In the investigation, it was revealed that Sanjay Chokse was involved in the said crime. Accordingly, the team detained him and interrogated him. During interrogation, he confessed to the team that he had committed 5 crimes with the help of his colleague Rajat Aggarwal, 3 in Rajapet thana area and 2 in other places.

Police seized 37 grams of 240 ml gold and a two-wheeler worth 2 lakh 46 thousand from the accused. The said action was taken by Assistant Police Inspector Mahendra Ingle, Police Sub-Inspector Gajanan Rajamalu, Sunil Lasurkar, Vinoy Mohod, Zaheer Sheikh, Atul Sambhe, Rahul Dhengekar, Katkar, Sagar Thackeray of the Special Squad.
