Nandurbar, Leading News Service : An accused, who has been booked under the Wildlife Protection Act, was caught red-handed by the police while accepting a bribe of around one lakh rupees in return for granting bail. The anti-corruption department team took action against the forest police in Shahada.
A case has been registered against the younger brother of the complainant under the Wildlife Protection Act at the Shahada Forest Zone Office and the complainant’s brother has been arrested. A bribe of two lakh rupees was demanded through a punter, namely Private Isam Nadeem Khan Pathan, aged 37 years, resident of Shahada District Nandurbar, who was hired by the accused authorities to help him get bail in the registered crime. After a compromise, a bribe of one lakh rupees was demanded and agreed to be accepted.
Investigation revealed that the bribe was sought for Sanjay Mohan Patil, Forester of Dara, age – 54 years and Forest Guard (Shahada Forest Range Officer) Deepak Dilip Patil, age 27 years, Appointment- Office Shahada. A case was registered as he encouraged and demanded a bribe of twenty five thousand rupees for the public prosecutor. This action was taken along with neither Prabhakar Gawli, Po nor Praveen Mahajan.
