Sinking Pune’s support for central funds; 250 crore will be available for flood control leader

Pune : From last few years, there is a flood situation in the city during small and big rains. The amount of water logging is increasing every year and Pune, which is drowning in rain water, will get a fund of 250 crores under the Urban Flood Risk Management (Urban Flood Risk Management) of the Central Government. Due to heavy rainfall, incidents of water logging occur in various places in the city. The municipality has appointed an expert consultant and surveyed the affected area.

According to the survey, 350 critical water logging sites have been found in the city and a detailed project report has been prepared regarding the implementation plans in this regard. Urban Flood Risk Management Scheme for big cities is proposed by Central Government. Under this scheme, funds will be provided under the 14th and 15th Finance Commission for the period 2021-2026. As per the instructions of the Centre, the Pune Municipality has prepared this plan and took the help of C-DAC for it. A presentation was made to the National Disaster Management Authority. Therefore, this year there is a surplus of 50 crores, Disaster Management Officer of the Municipal Corporation Ganesh Sonune said.
