Kolhapur, Ashish Shinde : Tender for IT Park of Kolhapur is ready. Efforts are on to find a middle ground between the IT association and the municipality on the issue of rates. The IT Park will be realized as soon as a mutual solution is reached. Municipal Corporation and IT Association have started efforts for this. As part of that, a joint meeting will be held soon.
On behalf of the local companies and the municipal corporation, the ongoing efforts to establish an IT park in Kolhapur will be successful. Three acres of land in Temblaiwadi has been reserved for an IT park. An area of 15 thousand 120 square meters will be made available for that. This building will be provided on ‘PPP’ basis. A cluster development proposal has been put forward to provide other facilities in the space reserved for the IT Park. This IT park will contribute to the progress of Kolhapur by providing employment opportunities at the local level.
After determining the location for the IT Park, a meeting was held between KPMG Company and IT Association on behalf of the Municipal Corporation. This time the space rate has been discussed.
Over 350 registered IT companies
There are more than 350 registered IT companies in Kolhapur. In this 50 companies are working for international projects. At present 8 to 10 thousand people have got employment due to these companies. After the opening of the IT Park, large scale employment will be created in Kolhapur.
