Yavatmal: Uncle-nephew killed in collision with speeding vehicle leader

Yavatmal; Leading News Service: A speeding four-wheeler hit the two-wheeler from behind. In this accident, uncle and nephew were killed on the spot. The deceased have been identified as Laxman Diwakar Balki (28) and Lavanya Ramchandra Balki (7) and are residents of Abai. The accident took place on Sunday night on Shindola to Kurli road in Vani taluka.

Laxman Balki, a resident of Abai in Vani taluk, and his nephew Lavanya both went to Shindola for work on Sunday evening. While returning to the village at night after finishing the work, the vehicle collided with the oncoming two-wheeler on a sharp bend near the farm of Kavadu Tekam. Both Laxman and his nephew Lavanya were seriously injured in this accident and died on the spot. As soon as the accident took place, the driver fled from the spot and reached Shirpur police station. Police sub-inspector Rameshwar Kandure is investigating the incident under the guidance of Thanedar Gajanan Karewad.

All vehicles carrying coal and cement go to and from Vani, Ghugghus via Shindola as four wheeler traffic is closed from the damaged Mungoli bridge. As a result, traffic has increased on this route. As there are liquor shops along the road, most of the drivers stop their vehicles on the road and consume alcohol. As a result, the villagers said that there has been an increase in accidents on this route.
