Arrested two people who exchanged Naxal notes, seized Rs. 27 lakh 62 thousand leader

Gadchiroli; Leading News Service: Even after the 2000 note was stopped from circulation, two suspected Isma’s who were going to exchange the money illegally collected by the Maoists were arrested by the police from Aheri. 27 lakh 62 thousand rupees have been seized from them, including 2000 notes.

The names of the arrested accused are Rohit Mangu Korsa (age 24, Res. Dhodur, District Etapalli) and Biplav Gitish Sikdar (age 24, Res. Panawar, Dist. Kanker Chhattisgarh). When both of them were going on a motorcycle today (5th), when the police blocked them and checked them at Aheri, they found Rs. 27 lakhs and 62 thousand rupees. It includes 607 notes of 2000 rupees worth 12 lakh 14 thousand rupees, 3072 notes of 500 rupees worth 16 lakh 36 thousand rupees and 7 notes of 200 rupees worth 1 thousand 400 rupees. Police informed that both of them told that this amount was given for exchange by Naxalites during interrogation. A case has been registered against both of them under the UAPA Act.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Nilotpal, Additional Superintendent of Police (Campaign) Anuj Tare, Additional Superintendent of Police Kumar Chinta, Additional Superintendent of Police of Aheri Yatish Deshmukh.
