Hingoli: Pudhari News Service – A six-year-old girl has died after falling into the pit of a water tank being constructed for tap water supply scheme under Jaljeevan Mission at Vatkali in Sengaon taluk. The baby’s name is Aroshi Yatalkar. A post-mortem was conducted on her body at Sengaon Rural Hospital on Saturday morning.

The work of tap water supply scheme under Jaljivan Mission has been approved at Vatkali in Sengaon taluka. For this, a place for constructing a water tank was fixed in the Phalatwadi area near the village. But after digging the pits, the place was changed due to copper soil. But the pit at this place was not filled.

Water has accumulated in this pit due to the rains that have been going on for the past three days. Meanwhile, Aaroshi Yatalkar, who lives in this area, went to play at 4 pm on Friday and fell into the pit. As she did not return home till late evening, her family started searching for her. However, around night time, her shoes were seen floating in the water in the pit. So when the villagers searched for her in the water, her body was found.

After getting information about this incident, a team of Sengaon Police Station visited the spot. Meanwhile, Aaroshi’s body has been admitted to Sengaon Rural Hospital for post-mortem. Aroshi lived with her mother and younger sister with her grandfather. Due to her death, the villagers are expressing grief. Meanwhile, a demand was made to the contractor and Gram Panchayat to fill the pit at this place. But even after that the pit was not filled. The villagers are alleging that the little girl lost her life.
