Hyderabad; Leaders Online: Telangana’s Cyberabad Police has arrested ‘Kabali’ producer KP Chowdary on charges of drug smuggling. On June 13, Chaudhary was smuggling drugs near Kismetpur X Road. 82.75 grams of cocaine drugs in 90 pouches and more than two lakhs in cash have been seized from him. A case under NDPS Act has been registered in Rajendra Nagar police station in this case. (Kabali Film Producer KP Chowdary)
Cyberabad police said that the accused Sunkara Krishna Prasad Chaudhary is a resident of Bonakal mandal in Khammam district. He completed his education in B.Tech Mechanical and later served as the Director of Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering and Technology, Pune, Maharashtra.
Entry into film industry in 2016 (Kabali Film Producer KP Chowdary)
In 2016, Chaudhary quit his job and entered the film industry. As a film producer, he made the Telugu film Kabali. KP made two Telugu films (Sardar Gabbar Singh, Seethamma Vactilo Sirimalle Chettu) and one Tamil (Kanithan). But he did not benefit much in these films.
Buying cocaine from a Nigerian
During this time he had a good relationship with the celebrities of the film industry. He then came to Goa and started the OHM club in Goa. He used to consume drugs with friends and celebrities who frequented his club. He returned to Hyderabad in April 2023 due to business losses. Here he bought 100 sachets of cocaine from a man living in Nigeria and was selling it to friends. He was arrested by the SOT Madhapur team on June 13 for drug smuggling.
