Nagar, Leader News Service: The Disability Welfare Department is now going to the ‘door to door of the disabled’ to solve the various problems of the disabled. Plan strictly for the successful implementation of this campaign. District Collector Siddharam Salimath has instructed to complete the village wise survey of disabled persons in the district within the prescribed time to solve the problems of disabled persons and give them the benefit of various schemes.
A preliminary review meeting was held in the auditorium of the District Collector’s Office regarding the campaign ‘Doors of the Disabled’ by the Department of Disability Welfare. Collector Salimath was speaking in it. Municipal Commissioner Dr. Pankaj Javale, Assistant Commissioner of Social Welfare Radhakisan Deodhe, Joint Commissioner of Municipal Administration Prashant Khandkekar, Medical Officer Dr. Vaijnath Gurwale, Deepak Anap, Coordinator of District Disability Elimination Center was present.
On the lines of the initiative ‘Shasan Apya Dari’, the state government has decided to implement the campaign ‘Divyangane Dari’ by the Department of Disability Welfare. Apart from many difficulties in daily life, disabled people also face many difficulties in obtaining necessary certificates like universal identity card, agricultural land related documents, caste certificate to avail government schemes. Collector Salimath directed that all the departments should jointly and coordinately plan the planning of the district level camp so that all the documents required by the disabled can be obtained at one place. The village and wadi wise survey of disabled persons in the district should be done within the prescribed time. He also suggested that village sevak, talathi, health system and ICDS should be involved in the works.
