Nagpur, Leader News Service :- Mistaking an innocent youth for a thief, the crowd beat him to death. The incident took place on Saturday (17th) evening when the youth was beaten up by the mob and died after being brought to the Kamathi police station. Nasir alias Gabbar Md. The name of the youth who died in the beating has been identified as Ramzan Ansari (age 40).

According to the information received, Nasir alias Gabbar Md. Ramzan Ansari (age 40) was standing near a two-wheeler in Oli Chowk, Futana this evening and while he was teasing the two-wheeler, the citizens present there thought that he was stealing the vehicle, and the crowd of the citizens thrashed him. After this he was handed over to the old Kamthi police station. However, the said young man died in the police station after some time.

This incident has created a stir in Warispura and Futana Oli area. The question arises as to who is responsible for the death of the said innocent youth. The police immediately shifted the dead body to the morgue of the Government Upazila Hospital for post-mortem examination and the reality of the incident is being ascertained through the CCTV camera. Further investigation is being conducted by Old Kamathi Police.
