Mumbai, Leading News Service : Flood situation is severe with heavy rains in many places in the state. The government is keeping a close eye on every aspect, immediately starting distribution of free food-grains with Rs 5000 to the disaster victims. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar assured in the assembly that the government will stand firmly behind every citizen in any situation. He also assured that the proposed ‘NDRF’ base camp will be in Raigad district itself.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar while replying to the questions raised by the members in the House during Question Hour in the Legislative Assembly said that flood situation has occurred in many places along with heavy rains in the state. In this situation, the government is keeping an eye on every aspect. Instructions have been given to the administration to be alert. Relief work is going on rapidly where needed. Disaster victims are being shifted to safe places. Arrangements are being made for their accommodation and food. Free grain distribution along with Rs.5000 is being done immediately to the disaster victims. There is no discrimination in this relief work. The government will stand firmly behind every citizen in calamity. Keeping in mind that Ratnagiri, Raigad district along with Sahyadri mountain region are constantly experiencing natural calamities, the state government will ensure that the base camp of ‘NDRF’ proposed in Raigad district will be located in Raigad district itself. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar informed in the hall that the necessary follow-up will be done.
