Leader Online Desk : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids at 21 places in Tamil Nadu today (23). ( NIA Raids ) Police sources said that this action was taken in the case of the murder of a former office-bearer of Pattali Makkal Kachi (PMK) at Thirubhuvanam in Thanjavur district.

Ramalingam had questioned some alleged conversion efforts in the city. Last year, 29-year-old Ramalingam was killed in a car bomb blast. NIA has already arrested some people in this case, while some suspects are said to be absconding. The house of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) leader Mubarak in Tirunelveli district was also raided today.

The NIA team today conducted raids in Thanjavur, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Tirupur, Villupuram, Trichy, Pudukottai, Coimbatore and Myladuthurai districts. Sources said that mobile phones, SIM cards, memory cards and documents were seized during the raid.
