Pune : Four years integrated course in SNDT leader

Pune; Leading News Service: The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has approved 42 institutions across the country to conduct four-year integrated teacher training courses (B.A. – B.Ed.). It includes the College of Education in the education complex of Smt. Nathibai Damodar Thakarsi Mahila Vidyapeeth (SNDT) Pune in the state. SNDT University College of Education Principal Dr. Nalini Patil gave this information.

The National Education Policy 2020 has emphasized on teacher training. For this, teacher training will be provided through an integrated curriculum till 2030. As a part of this, proposals were invited from educational institutions across the country to implement an integrated curriculum on a pilot basis. In it, 42 institutions including IITs, Central Universities, Universities across the country were selected. Students with minimum 50% marks in 12th can get admission for BA-B.Ed course at secondary level in College of Education, SNDT University.

Total 50 seats will be given admission. Computer Based Entrance Test (CBT) for this course will be conducted by National Examination Authority. The deadline for applications for this exam is July 19. Dr. Patil said that the integrated curriculum is in the form of a dual degree. There will be a degree in Arts and Education. Also multiple entry, multiple exit is applicable to this course.
