Bamanoli/Medha; Leading News Service: The mystery of the incident in which two people died after falling into the valley near the Ekiwa waterfall near the Kas Plateau on Sunday evening has been solved. It is clear that the unknown suspects beat them with kicks and pushed them into the valley and a case of murder has been registered against two unknown persons in this case. Akshay Shamrao Ambawale (age 28, Res. Basappachiwadi, Dist. Satara) and Ganesh Ankush Phadtare (age 35, Res. Karanje, Satara) have been named as two who died due to being pushed into the valley.
The information given by the police in this regard is as follows, on Sunday. On 16th around 6 pm, Akshay Ambawale and Ganesh Phadtare along with two other friends Pankaj Jaywant Shinde and Sadhan Sudam More (Rest. Basappachi Wadi, Satara) went for a walk at Ekiw waterfall at a distance of 150 to 200 meters from Ekiw waterfall. Akshay Ambawale and Ganesh Phadtare got into an argument with the unknown youths there due to some reason in the area of Ekiv Dhabdhaba. This argument turned into a fight. The unknown youths beat Akshay Ambawale and Ganesh Phadtare with kicks and pushed them into the valley of the nearby Ekiwa waterfall. It had collapsed in a deep ravine of about 400 to 500 feet. The police had called the Mahabaleshwar Trekkers and Shivendraraje Rescue Team to get them out. After the search operation started, the rescue team managed to recover the bodies of both the bodies till Monday morning. Darkness of night, heavy rain and dense forest made it difficult to find another youth. But after tireless efforts, the dead bodies were brought out.
This rescue mission was successfully carried out by Medha Police, Mahabaleshwar Trekkers and Shivendraraje Rescue Team. Local people also helped for this. Postmortem of both the bodies was done after the search. Pankaj Shinde, a friend of the dead youth, has given a complaint to the Medha Police Station and a case of murder has been registered against two unknown persons in this case.
