Leaders Online Desk: India’s young player Shreyanka Patil bowled hard to lead India to victory in the opening match of the Women emerging Asia cup against Hong Kong.
Indian women’s all-rounder Shreyanka Patil started their Under-23 campaign with a nine-wicket victory over Hong Kong in the Women’s emerging Asia cup, taking five wickets in two runs. Shreyanka, who was impressive for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the maiden Women’s Premier League, restricted the Hong Kong team to just 34 runs in 14 overs.
Opener Mariko Hill scored 14 runs off 19 balls for Hong Kong. In the U-19 World Cup, India all-rounder Mannat Kashyap (2/2) and leg-spinner Parshvi Chopra (2/12) also took two wickets each. In reply, G Trisha’s unbeaten knock of 19 saw India reach the target by 38 runs in 5.2 overs.
