Bhandara; Leading News Service: An old man who was returning home after receiving treatment from a rural hospital was hit by a tipper. In this accident, the old man died on the spot. The incident took place on Thursday (12th) at 11 am in Pavani. The name of the deceased is Lahu Vaidya (age 82, resident Bastarwari Ward Pavani).
Lahu Vaidya was going home via Gautam Nagar after receiving treatment. Lahu Vaidya was crossing the road on the highway from Nilaj to Wainganga River when the tipper hit him. He died on the spot. Meanwhile Lakhandur police inspector Ramakant Kokate was coming to Pavani and saw the doctor lying on the road. Immediately he called Pawani police and started action. The tipper was chased by the police and caught by the tipper. As the tipper driver absconded, the tipper was deposited at the ST depot. Sub Divisional Police Officer Manoj Sidam, Thanedar Narendra Niswade, Assistant Police Inspector Sunil Raut were present at the spot.
