Jejuri : Nitin Raut : On the occasion of Somvati Yatra of Shree Khandoba Deva of Jejuri, who is the deity of Maharashtra, devotees thronged the Jejuri Fort from early morning for darshan. On the occasion of Somvati Yatra which is on Monday Amavasya day, the palanquin ceremony of Shri Khandoba Deva took off from Jejuri Fort at 1 pm today, as soon as the festival idols of Shri Khandoba and Mhalsa Devi were placed in the palanquin, lakhs of devotees threw up the Bhandara and chanted ‘Yelkot Yelkot Jai Malhar’. At this time, the entire fort was bathed in Bhanda-Yani. Devotees felt the glory of your golden jejuri at this time.
The palanquin ceremony of Shri Khandoba Deva is on its way to the Karha river and the festival idols will be bathed in the Karha river at 5 pm. More than four lakh devotees have participated in this ceremony. An outpouring of devotion was witnessed at Jejuri Fort.
